SYML brought his Phases Tour to Union Stage in Washington D.C. on May 24th. DC was the last show before a slight break in the tour, and lead singer Brian Fennell made the show feel intimate and special for everyone in the room. Between banter between songs as well as an impromptu Q&A during the set, Fennell really made the crowd feel like they knew him. With the Q&A session, he took song requests and let fans into his mind and his music journey, giving background as to how SYML came to be. He even prefaced songs with the deeper meaning and the story behind them. The setlist was curated with older music from SYML’s discography as well as stuff that was almost brand new; the whole show was a really great highlight of who Fennell is as a person and a songwriter.
