Up and coming pop band Beauty School Dropout has just released their latest single “beautiful waste” and it's bound to be your next song on repeat.

YouTube comment on “beautiful waste” video.

Signed to Verswire, a record label run by Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus and Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, Beauty School Dropout is the new pop punk band. While pop-punk is not new by any means, its resurgence definitely is. Within just the last few years alone, pop-punk has begun its reintroduction to the mainstream and it's everywhere. And yet somehow each artist is bringing their own spin to it from more pop centric artists like Olivia Rodrigo to alt punk artists like Meet Me @ The Altar, Yungblud, and Beauty School Dropout. The pandemic left us craving music to scream and dance to. We’re frustrated, antsy, and yearning for that 3 minute dose of happiness. Today’s pop-punk gives us all of that.

“beautiful waste” gets you off your feet from the very start with kicking drums that are nearly impossible not to dance to. The lyrics of the song are the band’s take on a “Stacy’s Mom”-esque storyline, where the love is, instead, clearly unreciprocated. Nevertheless, the lack of reciprocation does not make the song any less of a hit. The song speaks to being so infatuated with someone that you don't mind having spent time on them when the feelings aren’t reciprocated because they are still beautiful in your eyes — hence the “beautiful waste of time.” From music video visuals to the song itself, “beautiful waste” delivers your classic unreciprocated yearning storyline with an upbeat sound. It's a track you can never get enough of.
