REVIEW: Vlad Holiday — Write Me off the Show
BY OLIVIA LEON
New York City based artist Vlad Holiday recently released his EP Write Me off the Show. With a mix of pre-released singles and new music, the EP produces a sound to stand out among indie releases today.
Holiday mixes sounds light and dark in perfect harmony. Whether it's your afternoon go-to or the soundtrack of your two in the morning contemplations, this EP has got you covered.
His lyrics complement the sound with equally contrasting verses expressing the very feeling you get from the first listen. “Beautiful destruction,” opens his song titled Destruction. “Tell me that you love me then leave / It’s all that I desire” he further writes in the fourth song off the EP Use Me Like You Use To. With juxtapositions true to the beautiful, yet often complex way we experience life, Holiday’s songwriting fosters a connection to the most intricate and simple emotions expressed, leading you through every one from instrumentals to lyrics.
