Glass House Point Releases Alt-Rock Single “Wash Me Over”

Alt-rock band Glass House Point just released their latest single “Wash Me Over,” creating a genre defying hit to take the indie music world by storm. From their introspective lyricism to expressive instrumentals, the band, composed of Dylan Graham (vocals, guitar), Ian Campbell (bass, synth), Dylan Methot (guitar) and Jansen Valk (drums), pushes the boundaries of alternative music and invites listeners along for the ride.

The single starts off with fluttery atmospheric synths leading you into muted vocals of the chorus. Sitting as the backbone of the track, the drums follow, carrying you towards the first verse with a strong and rhythmic beat similar to that of the bass throughout the song. And in perfect balance with the instrumentals, the vocals throughout the verses take on a fluid spoken word quality to them, emphasizing every word in its significance to the song's lyricism.

“This single is all about showing how we can push and innovate our sound — sharing that is what excites us the most. “Wash Me Over” is different from anything we have out, and it channels a lot of different vibes ranging from one of the grooviest choruses we’ve written to some of the most aggressive guitar work in our discography,” the band comments. And while the chorus holds a magic of its own from the upbeat guitars to smooth vocals, the verses of the song take on a life of their own. The lyrics speak to this contemplative state of emotions— understanding and grappling with the life around you, from past to present.

“Drag my feet and scuff my knees, I'm losing time / I can’t define what's wrong or right / I got a dirty mirror, disappearer, burned alive”

Coming from folk roots, the band leans into the lyricism of their songs, while simultaneously experimenting with dynamics that take the song to another level. “Our process has changed entirely since we first started making music…a lot of our process revolved around a singer-songwriter approach, starting on acoustic guitar. Now, we tend to incorporate a lot of electronic elements layered over an alt-rock base, and a lot of the writing process starts with demoing songs in the DAW and revising them over and over until we feel like it’s ready to take into the studio,” the group explains.

The “alt-rock base” of the single, however, is far from basic. With brighter and stronger guitar tones contrasting the darker tones of the song, the track features guitar solos that leave you stunned and wanting more. “We simply hope that listeners will be excited and refreshed with our music, and that it will be impactful for them,” the band says. After listening to “Wash Me Over,” listeners will be more than refreshed, tuned into every second and hitting repeat over and over again.
