LITTLE IMAGE PLAYS HOUSE OF BLUES CLEVELAND
BY SARA WELDEN
Dallas, TX alt-pop trio little image performed an electrifying set at House of Blues, Cleveland on March 4th. On the road supporting Colony House on their “The Cannonballers” Tour, the band consists of Jackson Simmons (vocals/guitar,) Brandon Walters, (bass/synth) and Troy Bruner, (drums), all of whom mesh extremely well together sonically and seeing them perform live together proves that. If one thing is for sure, it’s that little image knows how to get a crowd excited and energized for a show.

The second that little image began their set, you could feel that they had already captured the crowd’s attention. Starting off strong with their addictive track “EGO,” you could feel the energy of the room shift. Continuing on with tracks “BLUE” and “LUNGS BURN” which are both singles from their upcoming and highly anticipated album SELF TITLED, set to release on May 12th. Closing out their set, cheers erupted, undoubtedly from hundreds of new little image fans in the crowd.
I was a big fan of little image’s music before, but hearing these songs brought to life is a whole different ball game. The guys truly put on a performance and it’s clear watching them on stage that they are genuinely having a good time. They have such an infectious energy which then transfers to the crowd allowing for a real connection to form. It wasn’t long before I spotted some fans singing along to every song, like Grace, who noted after the set finished how “The guys were all super into the music and I could tell they were really feeling it, moving around on stage and dancing. They are such a cool band to watch!” Another fan, Brooke, seemed to know the lyrics to every song, especially one of the band’s deep cuts from their debut album in 2017, Musings. “Bottles by little image is one of my favorite songs and it was the coolest experience to hear it live.”
After Colony House’s set, little image could be found at their merch stand taking the time to chat with fans and take photos. “What’s up, Quiet Down!” expressed drummer, Troy Bruner. I wondered how life on the road was treating them so far, “Tour is going great!” announced vocalist, Jack Simmons. This was also the band’s first time playing in Cleveland. “Cleveland is the vibe and we love it a lot. We can’t wait to come back!” With a setlist of non-stop hits, I wondered which song was their favorite to perform live. All three of the guys, in unison, no hesitation announced “BALLET,” which is the most recent single released off their upcoming album, and was a very cool song to hear live.
little image will be on tour supporting Colony House through mid-April, so if you haven’t already, be sure to get your tickets and catch them out on the road! little image puts on a show that you truly don’t want to miss.
