Last Friday night, singer/songwriter/producer NoSo (Baek Hwong) toured his second LP “When Are You Leaving?” live at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right. An album of longing, becoming, and understanding, it was a beautifully sincere space between the artist and his fans: NoSo confronted and embraced his self-reflecting journey amongst fans who came ready to welcome these conflictions, all while letting go on the dance floor. As an openly queer artist, it was a genuine and safe place for so many of his fans to come and feel represented through lyricism that dealt with themes of validation and belonging. Sung with beats that encourages you to bop your head along, it makes it much easier to find comfort in oneself alone and with community — a cathartic release of discovery and joy!
